Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso (引子与回旋随想曲)

Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso is a composition for the violin and orchestra by Camille Saint-Saëns and since its premiere in the 19th century, it has become one of Saint Saens's most popular work.

Like many other violin pieces, Introduction and Rondo is considered to be highly virtuosic on the erhu. Although not idiomatic for the chinese fiddle, it pushes the erhu's technical abilities to the fullest and has become one of the more popular pieces in erhu repertory today.
